Where to go in DC for good live music?
March 31st, 2010 | by Rarzi |My sister and I are going to DC in March, and I’m 20, but she is 21. Is there anywhere we can go for live music performances of any kind, theatre, or any cool kind of nightlife where being under 21 won’t be a problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Check out the Washington Post Weekend section each Friday.
One that comes to mind: The Kennedy Center’s Millenium State has free live music 365 evenings per year at 6pm. Ck the KC’s website.
9:30 Club and Birchmere occassionally have all age shows, but that’s rare.

Many of the live music venues are All Ages. Disregard what the poster above me said about it being “rare” for 9:30 Club and Birchmere to have all ages shows. Both venues are actually “All Ages All the Time” (though I admit, very very VERY rarely 9:30 club will require you to be 21, but it’s usually if the show is sponsored by Alcohol Related sponsor). Birchmere is actually in Alexandria VA, but within the district Black Cat & Rock-N-Roll Hotel are also all ages.
The Kennedy Center has many ticketed performances on the various stages as well as free shows at the Millennium stage each day.
